Financial associate

Hi all,
im new on here and hoping someone will have an answer to my confusing questions.
I’ve recently had a mortgage application declined due to a “3rd party financial institution” not exactly sure what that means but the only thing it can be is financial association to my wife who has a dreadful credit history including currently being in an IVA. My credit is perfect as ive never defaulted on anything and ive had a bit of credit over the years.
I have recently completed my financial dissassociation paperwork and sent it off to the 3 big credit reference agencies.
Q1 is how long after we’re no longer financially associated will this stop having a negative affect on me?
Q2 is ive had a credit report of the 3 big CRA’s and there are lots and lots of searches on there whereby companies have searched my credit file and left a print due to an application by my wife (didnt know they could do that). Can all lenders see these searches.

She's a financial associate - not an institution. It sounds as if they are referring to another lender.

Have you checked all three of your files for any adverse data?

Yes ive looked through all 3 and the only default was a water bill that i was named on, although this is currently being disputed. My biggest worry is all the searches against my name, can lenders see these searches?

It'll be the default by the sounds of it.

I don't think searches as an associate appear to other lenders.
