Noisy Underfloor Heating Controller - who has to pay?

Options
Hi there, I hope you can help.

I recently had some underfloor heating fitted in three areas of my house, and they all have a digital thermostat on the wall on which you can set the timer, change the required temperature, turn it up and down etc.

The problem is that the thermostat which controls my en-suite bathroom in my bedroom is noisy and wakes me up every few minutes. It clunks every time it turns on and off. It's not a problem if it's manual - as you only turn it on once and then it clunks when it reaches the required temperature.
The issue is when you use it on the automatic timer. Just like in central heating, you set it to the required temperature eg 19 degrees, before you wake up, so that the room is nice and toasty when you want to have a morning shower.

However, when my thermostat reaches its required temperature, it then clunks on and off every couple of minutes for the rest of the time as it attempts to keep the room at 19 degrees and then turns off again, and repeat,, and repeat. But this can be an hour before I want to actually wake up! So basically it's clunking every couple of minutes an hour before I want to wake up, and it wakes me up every time it clunks. I have tried ear plugs but it's still audible and wakes me up and I don't want to have to sleep with ear plugs every night!

I contacted the tiling company who installed it and they came to change it with exactly the same model, and the same thing happens.
I contacted them again and now they're saying it's working properly, it's just the thermostat going on and off and that I will have to contact the manufacturer's now as it's under guarantee.

My point is:
1) none of my other thermostats make this noise, that I have ever noticed.
2) surely a thermostat that is designed to control underfloor heating in an en-suite bathroom should be silent, so it doesn't wake up the people in the bedroom?!

Can you help me please? Is the tiling company who must sort this out, or are they correct in saying that because in their view it works properly, I must now contact the manufacturer?

I am most grateful for your advice.
Nic

TBH If they installed a thermostat as per the spec and this is just how the model operates, there is very little you can ask them to do.

There are a number of digital thermostats on the market which make no noise, I would be tempted to take it on the chin and pay for one of these to be installed.
