Is my Amazon Fire Tablet really this Rubbish? What can I do with it?

Hi all
I bought an Amazon Fire Tablet at Manchester Airport last year for what seemed like a knock down price. Since then I’ve used it twice. Everything is geared towards Amazon, which I should have worked out myself. I can’t cast videos to my TV. I feel like with this tablet I’m
In Amazon Jail. However, recently I was on another site where people in the UK post deals that are hot. There was a different tablet on offer to which somebody recommended that the Amazon Fire Tablet was better. In response to that somebody wrote...’until you factor in the time, effort and risk it takes to get rid of Amazon's horrendous OS modifications.’ which got me thinking. Can I get rid of the Amazon stuff on my tablet and install a generic version of Android (so I can then do as I please with this tablet?) or am I stuck with Amazon?
BTW the model is SX034QT
Thanks all

There is some information here about getting Chromecast to work on Amazon Fire tablets.

It involves some sideloading of apps by the look of it.0 -
This looks interesting:

Lots of other links with a google search:

If you dont fancy rooting it , but want google play store on there , look here :-

I use an app called launcher hijack which gives me an Android launcher and I have Google play installed (which even updates half the Amazon apps so Amazon thinks they are side loaded)
Would I recommend it? If you want a cheap tablet yes, if you want something nippy and slick to use don't bother...0
