Ebay new listings take 24 hours to appear in search

Hi all,
I mainly sell buy it now items on my business ebay account but i've recently put a couple of items on 7 day auctions and I noticed that on day 1 I could not find the item in search results. This happened for the 2nd time today so I spoke to the notoriously unreliable live chat and they said "your item is under indexing process."
Apparently :
Indexing is a kind of verification process which every product has to go for to check whether the product, which is going on the site, is authentic or not. This verification process can take as long as 24 hours, and then it will be on the site
So my 7 day auction is actually 6 days - they said the solution is to schedule the listing as indexing starts before the auction start but that is a bit of a cop out - you put something on ebay and its not there, buyers can't find it.
I'm not sure if this is a new phenomenon as I only use auctions for personal clear outs. Anyone else had the same?
Thanks,
Gary.

I think like everything on eBay it depends on how much money they have put in the meter. I listed things on Sunday night, expected a bit of interest in a couple of the items, and had a bid in within about 10 minutes of listing going live. Yet other items have only had a handful of views in 24 hours.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I noticed that I am getting no views for a while. Normally I get one or two views almost immediately. Now I am getting no views at all. I haven!!!8217;t worked out how long for. Mine are all buy it now. I assumed there were fewer buyers about.0
