Tomorrow I am due to be at leting agents in morning to assist my partner in getting a new flat, as she is currently student, they want tme to carry out credit check and have in my name as i am earning.
Currently my Credit is not great however i have no CCJ'S or any IVA's etc however, i am concenred what the credit check will provide the letting agent as i have a couple of defaults and as we are paying £500 upfront for these checks (non refundable) i'm worried i will fail.
What do I do and what information will they be able to see?
I've seen a mixture of different responses online so really not sure.

As long as these defaults never got to court you should be OK. Letting agents usually only run checks which look for CCJs.
But agent will check what agent wants to check: Different agents/landlords have different practices: (My best ever tenants had recently arrived in UK and a neighbour said to me "Mr Artful they very nice people": That was enough of a check for me!).0 -
It's frustrating because, iv'e read that letting agents can only carrying out public record search but on same website of this credit agency, they also say elsewhere they now provide a more deeper search option.
I don't know what this agent is going to do, as they seem quite strict and said it's all down to the computer system.
We can't afford to lose the money should it fail. My partner has great credit but as i'm the one who is currently working they want to check me.0
