Hi
firstly thanks for all the great info on here. I have been reading through the newbies thread today.
I have recently received what appears to be a LBC from Civil Enforcement. The date of the incident was nearly 12 months ago, they claim to have sent various communications already. The debt is over £200.
They threaten court proceedings if no response within 30days.
I am guessing this is something i should not ignore??
Thanks

No you should not ignore it. At the top of this board is a thread that tells Newbies to read it first. You need to read it.
In it there is a section on dealing with court claims and potential court claims, which this is.0 -
NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 covers court issues from LBC right through to the court hearing (which won't happen in a CEL case if you jump through all the hoops required). Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

thanks.
Yes i have read through the newbies thread.
I just wanted to check given that its such a long time since the alleged fine and that i don't seem to have received any previous letters etc from them0 -
most of the advice here seems to say that you should reply online / email so that there is a record. I can't find any email add for CE Ltd and their appeals section requires you to confirm whether you are driver or not......0

You are well past the appeal stage.
You have a Letter Before Claim and have already been advised to read post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread.
In there you will find out exactly how to robustly respond to the LBC.
There are sample response letters in there just waiting for you to customise to your specific circumstances.
You must never give away the identity of the driver and I would find away of rephrasing the last part of your above post.0
