Bank accounts whilst travelling (and unemployed)

Hi,
I'm quitting my job in 4 weeks to go travelling for six months and will be officially unemployed.
Can anyone recommend a current account that has no minimum pay in that has a reasonable interest rate? It must have internet banking. I'm not fussed whether there's a debit card or cheque book.
I had asked A&L to waiver their minimum pay in on my current acount, but even after telling them about my substantial savings I had with them they wouldn't budge.
Thanks,
JP

If you're wanting to get money out whilst you're abroad then I know the Nationwide don't charge for taking money out of your a/c whilst abroad. Probably best to open one now before you become unemployed!0

Thanks for you reply. Sorry I missed out a vital information in that I already have a Nationwide account setup as well, which I will be using on my travels.
I'm going to transfer money to my Nationwide account (from a new current account) as and when I need it, so that if my card gets stolen/cloned, I may only lose a few pounds, rather than all of my travel fund.
