CCJ Issued to me

Hi,
First off sorry if this is in the wrong area!
I have been issued with a CCJ and If I choose to pay this off in full I will be left with around £90 for the rest of the month, I work full time and are paying other debts off which have all come out of my account already which is the reason I will be left short, does anyone think this will be a better solution or take the Hit with my credit file for 6 years by paying £25 a month?
I don't know what to do and I am kind of scared
Thanks!

If you can pay it off within the month and have it removed, it's a no brainer.
Pay it.0 -
If you can, pay it in full within 30 days of issue and it will be removed from your Credit File.
Then, post on the DFW board for further assistance with your other debts0 -
Hi hypooo and welcome to the forum
While it can be tempting to try and pay the CCJ off within a month to avoid it staying on your credit file for 6 years, you need to think carefully. If you are not left with enough for the bare essentials for the rest of the month (food, travel costs or rent money for example) it's an issue.
Will missing payments on lots of other outgoings this month cause a downward spiral into debt? How long it will take you to catch up on this month's missed payments, and could more serious things than your credit file be at risk, such as your home?
I would definitely advise you to contact one of the free debt advice agencies to discuss this further before you make a decision.

For a single person £90 is enough to feed yourself and keep the lights on.

You will no doubt have things you can sell to generate a bit of money so hit your local stuff for sale facebook pages and Ebay and sell some of the stuff that hasn't seen the light of day for a long time. If you've jewellery take a gold ring/necklace/chain etc to a pawn brokers and get it turned into cash - its completely braindead to go without food or end up having to have an avoidable CCJ just so you can hold onto a pointless bit of metal you won't die without. If you're paid weekly see if there's a chance of overtime or doing a Saturday shift. See if anyone you know wants any odd jobs doing on the weekend for a bit of cash in hand. There are very very few people in this country who don't have the ability to raise extra cash these ways if it comes to it, there are however a lot who cant be bothered to because it involves a bit of effort.
A CCJ can be quite damaging especially when you come to wanting to look at moving, maybe buying a house. For a month of short term pain I'd say it was worth paying it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
