Appealed on September 5th this year.
OH just had a letter this morning to say they have reassessed the situation and have awarded DLA lower rate for 24 months.
Back dated from the initial contact in June this year!
It was the Doctor's AND the helpful lady at the Job Centre Plus who said we should apply for it.
Hurrah!
Many Fanx for the users ofthis site who guided me!! YeY!!

Congratulations Harveybobbles!
I am in receipt of DLA too AND I had to go to appeal to get it!
In a nutshell their independent Doctor had come to see me and he had reccomended that I SHOULD get it - but they still turned me down!
Luckily I had a fantastic man from Optua helping me, who knew the system.
He asked for a copy of their doctors report - You can do this. Then calmly highlighted the Dr's recommendation and sent it back! Funnily enough I won my appeal!
Well done HarveyBobbles!0 -

congratulations harveybobbles,
I too appealed and won for my 8 yr old son. They said he wasnt entitled to anything although he is autisic, epileptic, and hyperactive !!!. Rang them and told them to send someone round for the day and have him, then tell me he dont need extra help..lol.
And by the end of the week they changed ther mind said he was entitled to low rate care. But now they say he should be on middle rate care and low rate mobility. They even paid back pay which i was surprised at.0
