How to Reduce Shower Pump Noise?

My Shower Pump is Driving. Me. Crazy. My husband gets up at 6 for work. He takes a shower, and all I can hear is a heard of elephants running through our bedroom. I don't have to get up until 7.45 so this is getting quite old (new house, moved in 2 months ago).

Does anyone have any tips to reduce the amount of noise coming from my shower pump? I know they offer quieter models but they are super expensive.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I found the new super quiet extra silent whisper mode shower pumps to be just a tiny, infinitesimally, almost unnoticeable bit quieter than the old noisy version.

    Ear plugs.

We have ours sat on a mouse mat, one of those neoprene types, that cuts down on the vibration a lot.

I have the same problem, we have an old fashioned boiler in one of the bedrooms and the pump is attached and every time someone uses the kitchen sink, bathroom sink / shower / flushes the toilet is it very noisy!
My husband says one day we will have to put a new boiler in the loft and it won't need the pump - or something like that, but we will need lots of money first!

You can get proper thick foam mats to go under them. I have one. It still wakes the other half up when I use it in the morning.

Edited to add - like this.

If your cold water storage tank could be mounted higher in the loft, you could have a shower powered by gravity.
My bath shower/mixer tap is supplied with cold water from the raised tank and hot from the hot tank.
A twin-impeller shower pump is under the bath and powers a wall-mounted thermostatic shower.
No need to use the pumped shower when others are sleeping.
Also, young children prefer the gentle shower.

We had something similar in our last house.
I managed to make quite a difference with a couple of things.

As mentioned above I put some neoprene under the pump but I also put the whole pump on an off cut of paving slab I had. That made quite a difference compared to just the pad.
Also I partially re-plumbed the pump. Most shower pumps have flexible hoses going to and from them. Often these are used to help plumb the pump in, bending them at right angles to the shower pump etc to get to the feed pipes. I was told they were mainly to reduce vibrations getting into the pipes and if you bent them they didn't work as well. As I was doing some re-plumbing anyway I made sure they were totally straight.

Between those things it made quite a big difference.
    Hope this helps

We sat our pump on a house brick - made a huge difference on noise.

What about telling him to have a shower in the evening before he goes to bed and just have a wash and shave in the morning.
