Old Style Daily Sunday 29th April 2018

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH and myself now enjoying peaceful cuppas, boys still in their pits, not expecting to see them any time soon, I'll leave them to have a lie-in as we have no plans for today, the forecast is not great again, it's not raining at the moment but it's cloudy, grey, dark and gloomy - looks like it could start any time, it rained pretty much continually all day yesterday until tea time.
Dinner last night was chicken breasts with HM egg fried rice and pasta in a a cream and bacon sauce. I remembered to get the pork joint out to defrost so we'll be having roast pork and all the trimmings.
Yesterday despite the continual rain work was busy - so the morning flew by and once home quick lunch, then we visited the parents so we didn't need to go today, so I can get on with lunch without a last minute rush. Menfolk want to watch the GP.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks HOLLY for kicking off. A glorious start here and forecast to stay fine so once Mr TA vacates the bed I shall strip it and get it all in the wm and pegged out.
I have just been wading through all the now defunct instruction books/receipts etc for kitchen appliances that have been hoarded over the years. All stashed away in a bag under the stairs and lots of the appliances long gone! Among them I found the invoices for the now ripped out kitchen which was fit in 1991. The appliances were ex display models which BIL got for us cheaply, the Magnet cupboards etc cost £946.67 and the joiner, electrician & plumber charged a total of £642.81 for fitting them. Rather less than this kitchen! I wonder if this kitchen will last as long and still be here in 27 years! Unless I live to be 99 I won't know!!
Today will be a day of playing catch up on jobs that have been put on hold, including the basket of ironing mounting up and hidden away in the wardrobe!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) as always for those who need them. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning All
Lovely bright morning here, one load of washing on the line, bedding in the machine now. Hoping it stays nice as I'm out all day.
I have my Cousin and her lovely DH here for the weekend, we went to the tennis tournament that's on in Glasgow. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed it and we're going back today to see more. Not bad for free!
We met DD and her BF after the tennis yesterday and went for something to eat, we sat outside in the sunshine and although it got a little chilly it was lovely to be out.
Well done Phoebe!
Glad you're all sorted now TA.
Get well soon Dp1, sounds like you've had a rough time.
Have a happy Sunday, take care. XX0 -

I only have plain old categories, lol.
dumpling Well done to Phoebe :T
dp1 That sounds awful, I hope you feel better soon xx
The weather wasn't too bad yesterday, though by mid-afternoon I was wearing a jumper and had put the heating on. Not sure if it was actually cold or my hormones are playing up, lol.
I'll have a shower in a mo then head out for a walk. No real plans for today but I've had another idea for a gift bag so I'll be spending time swearing at yarn when it doesn't do what I want it to

Morning all.
It's bright outside so I'll put a wash load on and keep my fingers crossed that it stays that way.
I'll probably go out for a walk too, I must get back into the habit. Apart from that I have no plans today. As the rest of the week is full I'm going to appreciate a quiet time.
I hope everyone enjoys their day. Happy Sunday!0 -
Good morning from a sunny Cornwall!
Our holiday cottage is smashing, about 3 miles inland from Boscastle, nestled in a very picturesque valley and when we walk to the top of the field behind the house we can see the sea :j. Last night we did the walk later in the evening and watched the sun go down.
Yesterday we went into Boscastle and looked at all the rebuilding done after the awful floods, hard to image that wall of water coming through the village, how scary!
Today we are taking a packed lunch and visiting Padstow, making the most of the dry weather to walk on the beach and explore, little dog is loving her holiday, she did cry a bit the first night so we moved her basket into our bedroom and then didn’t hear a peep
Hope all are well and apologies for not catching up on the thread but coverage is patchy.0 -
Morning all
Flying visit from me WiFi keeps dropping out, I shall be phoning Three later about it.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Lainey that sounds lovely enjoy your break
TA there is a clear desire for photos  make us jel
Holly could you get out somewhere that is inside IYSWIM like a market or an indoor local attraction? Im sad you feel like this about your own home everyone should be able to feel safe there
Yesterdays decluttering consisted of sky planner thinning out and that was about it
My baker friend popped round with some "spare"cupcakes so I felt it was my duty to help her declutter those
Today I need to sort the kitchen though its starting to be a bit rank. Lovely day so managed to drag together some washing first thing and will throw those on the line soon. Simon first though with Jamie on too
worth a look
Food last night was a bbq steak pizza so half of that left for today but with some Simon and Jamie inspiration that miht change

Morning,
Oh Lainey, a sunny Cornwall just sounds like heaven!
Holly, it is awful you feel likethat in your own home. I agree with Nelski, is there anywhere you could get out to that is undercover?
dp1, echoing the others, get well soon
Well our trip out for bathroom inspiration did the job, but now I have too many ideas! DH also wants to visit 2 more places before narrowing things down! He loves to see everything he possibly can so I'll go along with it. More rain and grey skies today so may do some Pinterest browsing and see if I can focus my ideas on what will work more.
Burgers last night
technically 'free' as were bought from M&S using a gift card we got as a present, I think that made them taste even better! Have got some soup out of the freezer defrosting for lunch as the wind is making us feel chilly - can't believe it is May on Tuesday and I'm saying that! Still, looks like things should improve later in the week, fingers crossed, the weather has such an impact on my mood.
Right, the bathroom won't clean itself, what an exciting life I lead
Have a good Sunday all
