It would seem the labelling put on the tub at time of purchase is proof that we bought it from them and when.
We've painted plenty of walls successfully before, just never with this brand. Online reviews are generally terrible and I wish we'd known about it beforehand.
Its proof that someone bought it.....
How did you pay?0 -
Cash, or I would have printed out a bank statement.0

Then looks like the only hope you have is a possible good will gesture.0 -

I lost my receipt for something I wanted to get a refund for (extra rolls of wallpaper). They asked if I'd used a B and Q card, the loyalty card type and they checked back with that. Found the purchase within a few minutes.0 -
Excellent, I have a B&Q card! Thanks for the tip0

If one tin of paint has been made faulty, its likely that a whole batch were.
I dont think that you can ever 'prove' to B+Q that you have followed the instructions. I think that is the reason that they are not being more helpfull.0 -
Last year we had most of the house decorated with Valspar emulsion, bought from B&Q. It had a dreadful smell which, rather than dissipating with time, actually worsened. Luckily the decorator had left a tin with the batch number on. We returned it to B&Q and they advised that we contacted Valspar. Valspar admitted there was a problem with the paint which they were aware of, they refunded the cost of the paint and also paid for a decorator to seal the walls and repaint. It was a hassle but we were fully reimbursed.0

I've painted most rooms in my house with it, no problems whatsoever, no smell, great coverage, far superior to Dulux.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear1
