Ignored until debt collectors, continue ignoring or respond to PPC?

Hi, I apologise if I've missed something but I've been reading the newbies thread and from what I understand, it's advised to just flat out ignore debt collector letters as they can't actually do anything themselves. However, I started a thread because the registered keeper wrongly thought past advice of "ignore everything" still applied. The keeper of the vehicle was then told by a colleague to check these forums and now realises that was the wrong thing to do.

What I'm trying to work out is, now that the first letter has arrived from the debt collector, should the keeper continue to ignore everything until/if court papers arrive, or would it be worthwhile having a go anyway at sending the email template to the parking company, in this case Premier Park Ltd?

Assuming it's relevant if anyone can help, the PCN was issued at the end of January 2018 for "leaving the site" and as usual, the boundaries of the site aren't defined, signs with pretty small text, no attempt to mitigate loss by the parking warden as he failed to inform the driver that a PCN would be issued if they left the site.

If I've missed this being addressed in the newbies thread I apologise and will delete immediately but I just wanted to be absolutely certain before I advise the keeper on what to do.

Thanks

You are now too late to appeal

See #4 in the Newbies FAQ thread which covers the wait and see/ debt collector stage

One thing you have apparently missed from the NEWBIES thread is 'complain to the site owner'.

From the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread:
ALL CASES - COMPLAIN FIRST, ESPECIALLY OVER A RETAIL, HOTEL, OR HOSPITAL CAR PARK:

Always complain to the Retailer very quickly and assertively, WITH A RECEIPT IF POSSIBLE:

Successful complaints about private parking tickets - how to get them cancelled! <<< CLICK

See how easy it can be to get these cancelled by a retailer/hotel/landowner. VERY EFFECTIVE AND DAMAGES THE PPC!

LOL, beware the company reading this forum:

    He didn't last long!

Anyway, 'leaving the site' cases are highly unlikely to go to a court claim, so relax! We see people win 99% of cases that are fully coached and well defended here, anyway.

    Here's perhaps why:

Lots of 'leaving the site' issues to understand and possibly use to your advantage. Read it carefully, get to understand it, get to know it, get to use it, if necessary.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This case was from 2012, is it still a valid ruling? I read about a case in 2015 where the supreme court ruled that a particular parking charge was lawful, and hence there's a basis for them all being lawful (maybe?). And in any case, could not the parking companies have adjusted their terms and conditions to allow them to bring court action on behalf of their client? I'm not especially savvy with such things, so I would appreaciate any clarification that someone could give me on this matter.

All clarification on this can be found in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum

Were you correct then this forum would just be tumbleweed blowing,!

We -forumites at the time - helped with/were fully appraised about the Beavis case, so please don't tell us about it - spare us, we do not need to discuss it all over again.

The Beavis case does not mean all PPC fake PCNs are enforceable all of a sudden, it was fact-specific, and does not affect cases that have completely different facts.
