Connells have charged £180 ??

Hi hoping someone can offer some advice?

Connells have taken £180 from my mum once she signed contract For them to market the property.

Can anyone tell me exactly what this £180 is for and whether or not it is refundable if mum cancels?

Thank you

    No.

But there might be a clue in the contract your mother signed.

    Just a thought.:)

Yes the answers will be in the very lengthy contract, but it's with her 100 miles away. She is elderly and I'm very concerned after having a very distressed phone call from her!
I thought someone on here may have paid connells this £180 and understand what it is for??

It might be for an EPC, although £180 seems a bit steep for that.

some estate agents charge for the EPC (£60) some charge for professional photographs - maybe it is a combination of those

    A Premium Marketing package with Connells costs up-to £149 + VAT = £178.80

Sounds like this is what she has paid for rather than their free marketing service.

They don't advertise this price - but if you google Connells Marketing fees the 1st thing comes up is something which refers to a " free premium package worth up to £149".

Some charge a fee to cover outgoings which they can't recover from third-party suppliers if they don't get their commission from a sale.

    Sale board
    Schedules
    Photography
    Floor planning
    etc
