Just ignore them then. No-one here pays them, why? Why? STOP, no paying them.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your communication regarding the Parking Charge Notice issued by us on 22.03.2018

Please be advised that after liaising with the landowner they have stated that, although they appreciate you were a customer of one of the businesses at the location, due to the length of the overstay, they do not want the notice to be rescinded

If you are unhappy with our decision, you are entitled to seek independent arbitration with the IAS.

    Kind regards

I shall be requesting that :rotfl:

If a scenario existed where they reject an appeal on the basis of a response from a land-owner, but were unable to prove that, I wonder where they stand with their trade body solicitor buddies?

I'd assume I could get hold of evidence either way as my details would be within that communication.

    Here is the rub.

If you pay, it will cost you money. Either £60 or £100.

If it got to court - and as said this PPC is court shy - and if you lost, it is unlikely to cost more than £125. (Regulars, please confirm or correct)

They would lose money in taking you to court what with the brief's fees and other costs exceeding what they could expect as a win. It's business, and they are more likely to go after fish that are easier to land.

And, of course, you have the personal satisfaction of not being turned over without a fight or protest.

ABout £175 - £200, assuming the court doesnt accept you challenging the usual !!!! particulars that do not justify the £50 solicitor fee. If they do it inhouse with no sol, then £150

    £100 PCN
    £25 court filing fee
    £25 court hearing fee
£50 capped sols costs (if expended)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    OP #11 says:-

For now, this is where my story will end. I have paid the vultures - the lower £60. They have absolutely no further recourse against me, which I like.

Yes, sadly it's not worth my while to invest the time and go to court. That said, I don't have to have an outstanding charge to pursue actions in the other direction, particularly surrounding data protection / GDPR.

So, sadly it is paid - £60 in full. And it's time to gather information and contact the appropriate consumer protection bodies - Information Commissioner, etc.

Again, thanks for the help here. I'll update this thread when I progress my GDPR concerns.

Paul, how did you get on with information commissioner? I'd be interested to hear your progress, and the outcome of any actions?

Have you seen the goings on in The House of commons?

Please complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by in the not too distant future..
