Retailer removed items from my order but still charged full postage

I certainly think that it is worth sending an email to them but only if you intend to purchase more items.
If, for example, you purchased 5 items but 3 were cancelled then it isn't really your fault and they are putting you in a position where, if you want to replace the 3 items, you have to fork out a second £4.99.
I think that it would be good customer service for them to waive the postage fee for re-ordering things similar to the cancelled items from them. But it would probably be a goodwill gesture more than any legal right.
As we are probably talking about Sports Direct, the bit in bold almost certainly doesn't apply. :whistle:0 -
At last, someone who sees sense! Unfortunately I think this is going to be a bit annoying to sort out now, as Hermes delivered the parcel while I was out and signed for it on my behalf. No they wouldnt given its the courier that would suffer.
Why, given that the courier behaved badly (possibly fraudulently), shouldn't the courier be the one to suffer?0 -

I'm really surprised how many MSE forumites seem to think that the retailer's actions are acceptable here.
Ah, at last someone who agrees with you.
This doesn't mean it's illegal, you knew how much delivery was when you entered into the contract, there is no denying that, that is the reason you ordered more items. You have the right to refuse delivery not the right get a fixed price delivery reduced.
The fact that Hermes delivered the parcel and signed on your behalf is a different issue altogether. Perhaps you should start a new thread 'Delivery driver signed for a parcel I wanted to refuse - what are my rights' .Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Not convinced by this. Surely they have breached the contract?0 -

Did they? When, according to their T&C's, us the contract formed?
And your rights had they breached the contract would be to reject the order without penalty, not to receive a discount on fixed price postage.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

People want cheap carriers, paid per delivery and this is what you get.
My courier leaves my stuff all the time, saves me grief. I bet for the OP too
If couriers deliver 100 parcels a day and sign for 50, they should probably expect a "not delivered" once per day, and take that risk accordingly.
If I was a courier, apart from the odd occasion where there were no neighbours nearby (in which case parcel v unlikely to go missing) I would always go with the neighbour rather than risk leaving outside or in a wheelie bin.0 -
But this isn’t that one time - the parcel was delivered.
Morals gone out for the day?0
