I got my PIP decision and i get enhanced both rates but i dont agree with the points? they dont match what the report states and what i think should be there. Should i request a mandatory reconsideration or leave it?

Leave it. A MR risks losing the lot.0

Thanks, I will leave it.0

For goodness sake don't MR it.
You have the highest award possible. Why ask the DWP to reconsider that?
(unless, of course, you want it reduced!!).Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -

Of course ask for the MR but you won't get a higher award and you risk losing everything.0 -
It's actually quite common - the OP is at least the third poster who's had the same concerns. I can also understand the worry. If (say) you got points because you don't wash, but have no problems washing, then every time you go out nice and clean you'd be worrying that you'd be done for fraud. Even though at the same time you're barely eating, but didn't get points for that. There could also be stress around having to accept you're 'more ill' than you believe in some areas but then with being 'not believed' in others.
I'd expect the problem - both 'wrong' points and worry about them - to be more common in mental health claims.
OP, I agree with the others. Don't rock the boat and ask for a MR. Just see it that overall you have the right award, and don't get bogged down in the details.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
I wouldn't challenge it either, but must admit I did contact DWP and asked to speak to the decision maker (not an MR just a discussion) to check that part of my award was correct, because I was awarded a lot more points than expected for one descriptor, and those points made the difference between enhanced and standard daily living. There were also a few points that weren't awarded on daily living that should have been, and so if that descriptor had been wrong I'd need to ask for an MR to gain the missing points. I just wanted to be sure I was legitimately receiving the PIP award and also wouldn't be challenged at a later date.
I was reassured that everything that I was telling them was also documented by the health care professional (who was very good and thorough) and that in her opinion the 8 point descriptor applied because x, y , z.
With hindsight and having done a bit of reading around it I think they're right. I hadn't previously included that aspect of my disabilities in my DLA claims - because at the time it wasn't as severe and to me is more of a frustration than a disability compared to the rest of my brokenness.0 -
I am another who got the expected points....but not in the expected areas!
I got more points that I expected for washing/toileting and cooking....but less than I had calculated for in managing my meds and communicating....I ended up with the enhanced for Care ...and didn't see the point in outing in for a MR - not when they could well reduce the award.
(I am considering checking on the mobility component - I was awarded standard - but this was before the government forced-rethink on how mental health affects mobility.....but that is a different issue!)
OP...I would echo the suggestions that you accept your enhanced for both components....no point in rocking the boat!0
