Eastate agent doesn't agree to provide a list of clients he introduced me to

Hello
We are looking to switch estate agents and I have asked our current agent to provide a list of buyers he has introduced us to, so I can ensure he gets paid in case one of his customers decides to buy via the new EA.
However, he has refused, saying that he will monitor Land registry and will send me an invoice if he finds out I sold to his client
Obviously at that point I would end up paying both estate agents.
What is the normal practice here?

Which Government Authorised Consumer Redress Scheme is the EA a member of? Often it's the Property Ombudsman Scheme.
If the EA refuses to either...
a) Give you a list of people that they believe they have introduced to the property
Or
b) Confirm that they do to intended to seek commission in respect of any future buyer of your property
... tell the EA that you will complain to their redress scheme that you are not being treated fairly.
For example, the The Property Ombudsman's code of practice says:This Code of Practice is mandatory for all TPO Members
2a You must treat all those involved in the proposed sale or purchase including sellers and buyers fairly and with courtesy.

As above. And/or
write to the agent, again requesting the list, but stating that if the agent declines to provide a list of introduced clients you will have to assume that there were none, and that hence no fee will be payable in the future.
The agent might try to enforce payment of an introduction fee later and go to court if you refused to pay, but provided you can demonstrate that you had been reasonable, given the agent every chance to supply the list, and warned them of the consequence if they don't, I doubt a judge would side with them.0 -
Thanks Both!
Turns out he is registered Property Ombudsman Scheme, once I quoted the above document, he confirmed the list very quickly!
Thank you for such quick replies!0
