Anyone know how to opt out of Virgin sales calls?

I find the people they use really annoying and quite underhand.
Yesterday, as a loyal customer, I was offered a free upgrade to 100mb. I asked whether there was a charge and was told there was not. I don't have a TV box and she tried to get me to take the latest shiny model. She was very persistent and I had to be very firm with her. When she realised I wasn't going to give Virgin more money, the 100mb offer disappeared. I don't really need it anyway.
I do think Virgin push their luck on price and I will definitely go at the end of the contract as they are very expensive compared with others. However, the broadband is very reliable and I hope other companies have similar reliability when I leave.

My mother had this problem - she was getting 3 or 4 calls a day. In the end I answered a call, pretended to be her (she!!!8217;s in her 70s and was getting very anxious about the constant calls) and told them to take her off the marketing list. It seems to have worked.0

Send them a section 11, (see 1998DPA), notice which requires them to stop processing your personal data for marketing purposes within 28 days.0
