Euro car parks POPLA

Hello I'm new to driving and I parked at a local pub which was not chargable, all that was required of me was that I entered my reg on the machine inside the pub. However I was not aware of this untill I received my PNK after returning I have seen the signs and I have called the pub saying that I was inside the pub and they said they do tell people but sometimes they forget but refuse to get involved. I have followed the newbies thread and sent them the written up appeal. My question is, what grounds do I have to appeal to POPLA because the car park was not chargeable I just didn't see the sign. I feel like I have no grounds of appeal and when the appeal goes to POPLA I feel like I will loose. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You have as many grounds for appeal as anyone who reads the Newbies thread, one click back and third post down. Read it, find other posters who have forgotten to input VRM in a machine and follow their actions (and eventual success).0

The fact it was not chargeable is immaterial the fact that the signs weren't prominent for you to see is important, have a look on here at other POPLA threads and info some of it will be applicable.
Euro aren't litigious anyway.0 -
When you say they aren't really litigious. Have they ever taken anyone to court or will they just threaten me.
Thanks0 -

Nearly a million tickets issued over three years yet only three court hearings.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

2 months ago I appealed to a Parking fine I received. Until 2 days ago I had not thought about it due to Euro car parks not replying to my appeal. After reading up about it I messaged the BPA and also informed Euro car parks that they have Broken the BPA's code of conduct. They replied saying that they had send an email and supplied evidence of this email which was two suspicious looking cropped photos of my email and date that it was sent. I replied to this saying that their evidence was insufficient. My question is, now I have no POPLA code how do I move forward from this?
Thankyou for any help0 -
Nothing (in terms of actual appeal - and certainly do not pay!) if they are saying they sent a POPLA code, and the BPA accepted they did and it's now expired.
However, I would send a SAR to ECP (search the forum, been discussed to death).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Oh, just spotted the same scam mentioned on pepipoo:

If that is NOT you, then there appears to be the start of a pattern with ECP doing this, so as well as doing a SAR to ECP, send an email complaint to Steve Clark at the BPA with copies of your correspondence since you appealed, proof you did appeal, and a link to this thread so he can read what's occurred and that there is at least one more poster reporting the same apparent 'let's pretend we sent a POPLA code' scam from ECP.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
