Credit card question

Heya. I've got a credit card with HSBC with a limit but I would like to buy something that cost more than my available limit is it possible to transfer money from my bank account on top of the credit limit ? Example 1000 limit + 1000 my own money to buy something worth 2000.

    You may get away with it, but you run the risk of having your account closed or the funds returned.

    I'm assuming you want to use the CC in order to get protection?

    I was going to ask why not pay half cash & half CC but then I'm assuming you would only be covered for the £1000 paid by CC, is that correct?

    No - you would be covered for the full amount, however much or little is paid by card.

    Is just that I want to make the purchase online but I don't know what are the consequences for adding money on top of your credit limit and if it's possible and allowed of course I will pay the credit card balance after in few months.

    Unless you have only recently taken out the CC. Contact HSBC and see if they will increase your credit limit.
