PPI PELVIN RBS mistake + time scale

Hi, i have started to reclaim my PPI using the PELVIN rules and i received an offer letter which i duly accepted and returned. I spoke to RBS and the confirmed that they had received my acceptance and informed me i would be payed within 28 days which is today. However on Saturday i received a letter that stated they had made a mistake in my first offer letter and they should have informed me that if accept the offer my policy would be cancelled. I had to return another signed acceptance letter - which i did immediately. I have just got off the phone to RBS and they are now stating that it could take a further 12 days from them receiving the letter in their mail room to them confirming receipt! It could then take a further 28 days from that date for them to arrange to send me the money!! Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything I can do to speed the process up? It seems to me that they are just playing games and holding the money as long as possible!

There's not much you can do at this stage. Just be patient.
They're certainly not holding onto it deliberately or 'playing games'.0 -

No, they are not playing games. It has to go through a number of departments to get to the end and each will have a queue of cases to do. Plus, every day it takes it costs them more.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
