Yawn!
All I plan to do is add a switch to isolate bulb.
Of course I am a niceic approved contractor, I will make sure device complies with the IET and the British Standards Institution standards including but not limited to BS 1362, BS 1363, BS EN (IEC) 60309, BS EN 60320, BS EN 60335 and just for good measure I will get the HSE to come in and inspect my work!!!
Seriously!!
Last night I checked my own electric toothbrush and measured the energy used, I ran down the battery then charged it up, energy used was nominal and despite LED went to zero after charged.
Seems to me that if one brushed teeth first and then put light on (to charge) while finished washing would probably be enough energy to keep toothbrush going. One could always charge up for longer at weekends or something.
So with replies I am happy that there is no wiring problem, that she might consider an LED bulb replacement to reduce energy and heat, that toothbrush can be charged adequately by being mindful.
