Plevin and a regulated mortgage

I submitted a Plevin claim against the Yorkshire Building Society. I checked with the FCA and I meet the criteria on dates. However the Financial Ombudsman have rejected my claim as I have a regulated mortgage. How would I know if my mortgage is regulated and what is the difference between a regulated and what i'll describe as a normal mortgage ?

I would hope you will see that I felt that I was in the middle of two well respected organisations
The point is that you put yourself in that position by contacting the FCA in the first place.

The FCA are indeed the Regulator, but only FOS are the final arbiter of individual complaints

Basically, for you and others who might read this thread, the moral of the story is that PPI complainants have no reason to contact the FCA directly. The complaint process is simple. A complaint to the seller of the insurance followed by a referral to the Ombudsman if still not satisfied.
..and, no, I didn't make any of that up ;)
