Being made redundant and suspended beforehand

Options
Looking for some advice as I have been issued a notice letter stating I am redundant in 4 weeks time as the company is closing and ceases to trade. I have just been suspended from work for gross misconduct, basically I asked for permission to use an item I believed was going in the bin and my manager said I could take it and then bring back what I didn’t need. So I took the item then got suspended by senior management for theft, my manager got another job and left just before. So I’ve sttated what happened that I was given permission to have the item and am awaiting to hear whilst they verify this info with ex employee.
What would happen if I don’t hear before the date of my termination of employment stating I’m redundant in a few weeks? Will that still stand or will they continue to pay me before sacking me? As so close to closing I don’t want to loose my redundancy but not sure what I should do whilst waiting for an answer.
