"NATIONWIDE LAUNCHES MEMBERS’ SUMMER BOND PAYING 5.50%
The Society unveils its tenth loyalty product for members":
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/mediacentre/PressRelease_this.asp?ID=679
Remarks
Likely availabilty is up to 3 weeks, based on previous issues...
Maximum £5,000 single or £10,000 joint - same as last year's...
No 'End date' is mentioned - but as it is a one year offering this might either be the anniversary OR 1st July 2006, I'm guessing.
This is about as good as you can get for a one year fix - and only available for 3 year plus eligible members...

Jubilee Bond was available in May 2002, paying 5.75% for 3 years. Anyone with one of these about to mature should hopefully be told about this rollover offer by Nationwide anyway.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
I rang them this morning couldn`t get past their voice recognition because
of my Scottish accent, eventually got to speak to some-one who put me through to the savings dept. put on hold, the usual music plus telling me my call was important, after 15 minutes I hung up and re-dialled got through eventually again to another lady told me the dept. was closed `til Tuesday.
Yes Nationwide "Your call is important"Not.A wise man changes his mind, a fool never will.

Yes, members' fixed-term bonds from Nationwide have always been good.0

Well, they would be. They are deliberately loss-making accounts, and represent the most tangible part of Nationwide giving something back to members - but, unfortunately, only to a select group of members who can afford to tie up money for a particular one-year period starting in a particular three-week period.
That said, if my remortgage goes through on Tuesday as expected, Mrs MMD might chuck £5k into one of these.
