Poll started 24 April 2018
It's cheap, and environmentally friendly, yet some people think only new will do.
Please select ALL of the items that you would be happy to buy second hand, if it was decent quality and cheaper.

What do you mean "pets"?? I didn't realise there was a market for pre-loved goldfish etc....0

i'm really shocked at how low all the percentages are for buying 2nd hand
as for pets, I know quite a few who have 2nd hand pets - I bought my dog when she was around 3yrs old.0 -
Surprising how few buy secondhand cars: ~10%0

I would suggest that quite a lot of people nowadays are just buying on PCP.
Also I think that we will see that number coming down in future as 2nd hand hybrids / electric cars are not going to be worth it as you would have to buy new batteries for them anyway.
I also wonder how many of these figures are lower because people just haven't ticked the boxes, such as 2nd hand baby stuff, I would never buy 2nd hand baby stuff as I don't have a baby.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -

I was thinking that too, in hindsight there should have been 3 possible responses to each question: Yes/No/Not relevant to me. There are 7 items in the list where I'd have ticked the last option.0 -
there are very few things on this this that i have ever purchased, such as baby stuff, cars, carpets, tvs, jewellery, toys, video games, pets
the only things that i have quite a lot of is second hand cameras0 -

One of the girls at work told me her husband bought a brand new car because he needs it for his work - delivering pizzas for Dominos.
I don’t know what dominos pay per delivery, but I’m pretty sure he’s losing money hand over fist in this enterprise.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

Pah, decadent bourgeoisie. A proper crusty buys his boots well-used from army surplus and doesn't know the meaning of the word pants0 -

I’ve bought second hand army boots, but I’d draw the line at pants - not a reason to be cheerful.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0
