You can VT a lease vehicle but depending on the funder you may need to pay the full amount outstanding. Some companies say 50% of the outstanding rentals.
If you were to return the car in a non-running condition, they will charge you for it and the costs will be out of your control. Best to get it repaired, argue with the dealer and the manufacturers customer care team and see what they can do.0
