Faulty Shower - My Rights ?

Options
Hi,

Last week had a shower fitted by my local plumber/electrician, within two days the shower developed a fault/defect.

The shower and labour was part of the quote from my plumber.

Am i right in saying my contract is with the plumber and he would be responsible for repair or replacement given that I have purchased the shower through plumber?

The plumber has hinted that I may have to contact the shower company direct to arrange for the shower manufacture to repair fault/defect.

Given the fault/defect surfaced within a few days this advice to contact shower manufacture seems wrong if I have understood consumer rights correctly.

Any advice please?
