    Of course not . .

How dare you doubt the OP? Steve Jobs has rose from his very grave to sort this issue once he’s seen the photos.

    Your username is very fitting.

@marliepanda maybe the ghost of Steve Jobs made an appearance in the 02 complaints review service office, as they have just replied to me with the weirdest* response to a complaint, i think i’ve ever had.

*The letter was 3 pages of incoherent, error strewn ramblings, which included the statement “I am not able to uphold your complaint” on 5 separate occasions??? And yet ends by offering me a free replacement as a goodwill gesture!???

It also included a number of incorrect statements about what I’d requested, even though they have all of the transcripts of exactly what was said over livechat and twitter?!

Finally, 1 page was dedicated to explaining how the consumer rights act and sales of goods act works, even though they explain it incorrectly. (I work in ecommerce and have a pretty good handle on it myself)

Anyway, as long as the replacement isn't a reconditioned handset, i should have resolved the issue. Thanks all for your input, even the comedy ones.

Bit late now, but the thing about fluff and lint in the bottom of charging ports is, it gets compacted down every time the cable is inserted, until it builds up enough to cause a problem. But because its compacted, it can be hard to see. I find a plastic tooth pick is a handy tool for clearing them out, stiff enough to shift stuff but soft enough to do no damage.

Wonder if the 'free' replacement will be a refurb, then after their repair centre finishes with your old one it'll replace the refurb in their stocks.
