That probably means that they can get round a lot of the regulatory rules. I seem to recall a whole load of people getting stung because they had bought inappropriate insurance (PPI?) and were unable get redress or their money back because the Uk based bank had arranged the insurance with company base din Ireland

wanted to add the same thing i have a similar company calling my mobile and often at home everyday ,yesterday i actually answered only to be asked by someone whether i was having trouble meeting my repayments and that if i just listened to him they could help
My reply was to say that i already had a payment amount agreed with my creditors and if i did need any help my first port of call would be cccs or some other free charity to help -upon hearing this the man nearly started shouting that i wasnt listening to him and that he could help
at which point i sadi good day good riddance and put down the phone
