Is there usually a charge to carry out an 'assignment of tenancy'??

Further to my earlier post, I have read online that if one tenant wants to leave the tenancy agreement but others do, the existing tenancy agreement can be assigned or transferred from one tenant to another with the landlords approval. Does this usually incur a fee?

Yes. Admin fees. These will be outlined by your agent0

Yes. There is an administrative and legal process.
Some landlord's might do it for free, but few letting agents would without considerable negotiation.
The incoming tenant is also likely to need to be vetted (references, credit check etc) and this typically incurs a fee too.0
