Overnight Motorbike Storage

I reverted to my youth at the weekend and bought a lovely V-twin motorbike. I live in flats and can park my bike in the residential parking area, but its not secure and bikes don't like the elements. So, I rented a lockup garage 10 mins walk away.
I phoned the insurance company today to tell them that the bike will mostly be stored in the garage, but I will sometimes leave it here overnight. They didn't like that at all and said that I couldn't store it, for insurance purposes, at multiple locations.
I'd like to hear from any bikers out there who have similar circumstances and might know of an insurance company that is a bit more understanding....or is this pretty much an industry-wide policy?

I'd go with my worst case scenario, and get quotes based on that. Your worst case is leaving it in a residential parking area, that's what I'd say.0

My son's motorbike was parked on the street outside his flat.
He used a cover and motorbike lock/alarm0 -
