Changes to Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account

Hi all,

Another change afoot for Halifax URCA card holders, see here for the new T&C's

Changes are:

* Account fee going up from the 1st July to £17 but if you have funded your account with £750 and paid out 2 x DD and stayed in credit each day this is reduced by £3 to £14.00.

* Mobile phone claims is now £100 per phone regardless of what phone you have and now have a limit of 2 claims per year, (from the date of the first claim)

*Financial claim for fraudulent activity is not covered where you have saved details on your phone (phone is covered not the data on it)

*You cant claim for lost mobile if you have handed it over to a courier/Phone repair, any 3rd Party other then the Lifestyle services

*No longer have a call out limit for AA Breakdown cover.

Just had the letter too...

I only use three parts the mobile cover, use the home start on the AA cover and the travel insurance.

The killer for me is the £100 excess increases and only two claims a year on the mobile phone cover... If you have an android phone, at present the excess is only £30!

Its just a double whammy they increase the charges and reduce the cover given... So if you have two claims in a year the policy is worthless for the rest of the year.

The mobile insurance has been a god send with some careless knocks on my phone and cracking the screen

Be aware the AA cover they offer is very basic and only get to you to the nearest garage or 10 miles in the event of a breakdown.

Just rang my car insurance, and they can offer fully comprehensive breakdown cover with my policy covered by Green Flag for £48! Will get you to your destination and garage off your choice.

Also finding annual travel insurance for around £20-30 a year with worldwide cover including the USA... (For one person.)

Just now need to find mobile insurance cover. Then I think I might be quids in and cancel packaged account cover.
