Samsung RS51K5680SL fridge freezer - water tastes like plastic

I've got a Samsung RS51K5680SL American Fridge Freezer
Have had it plumbed in to mains water - and run about 40 litres of water through it by now.
However, the water still has a distinct plastic / chemical taste.
Almost like paint.
This generally only happens when it's been left for a few hours.
If I run a couple litres through then drink the fresh water coming through, it tastes OK.
Have emptied the ice, which has now re-frozen.
Still same problem.
Not sure what to do from here!
Any ideas welcome!

Sorry, should have stated in my original post:

I don't think there are any short cuts, you just need to give it time. As you've found, flushing helps to a point but you need to flush it, let it sit for a while, flush it, let it sit, etc.
It will disappear eventually.0
