    If you need a cooker and currys are offering an interest free loan or very low apr then do it but if the apr is high then i would suggest applying for a credit builder card with a 0% interest free period so that you can spread the cost over that period, you may be able to negotiate the price down with a credit card and it will also allow you to shop around and get a better deal.
    Don't take out an interest charging loan just to improve your credit history it will improve over time anyway.
