Argos - paid 50% Card & 50% Gift Card

Hi all,
Last week I purchased an item using my debit card and a gift card. I now have to take the item back as faulty but from memory, I think Argos give you your card payment back but give the amount you have paid with the gift card as an Argos voucher. I've been thinking - is this correct?

Retailers usually refund back to the original method of payment.. so in your case 50% card 50% gift card

Would you not prefer it to be replaced...or have you changed your mind?

Ah, I should have said that I can’t find the gift card !!!128577;

I think they'll issue a new replacement gift card...it doesn't go back on the original card necessarily as I understand it.
