Morning all,
TA I'm glad you had a better day yesterday. Many hugs.
Not much for me to report...the lawns have been cut and garden tidied. Not to Grumps usual 'military precision' standard. I guess he finds it easier to strim over the weeds instead of pulling them up. I think I'll have to chuck some weedkiller in the trolley next week....Oh and don't mention the trees, they don't need cutting back yet apparently though each year they get thicker and wider. I'm going to have no garden left at this rate. It's all going to be swallowed up by trees.
Pancakes for tea last night. I fancied a change. Made what is usually enough for the three of us and Grump ate the lot.. Gardening must have increased his appetite.
Taking the hounds to the garden centre a bit later...hoping to squeeze a spider plant out of him and a nice pot. I hate gardens but love pot plants.
Got a rather garbled text from Youngest just after midnight...he'd been on the 'pop'. He's having a tattoo. Well I'd rather he spend his money on that than increased insurance premiums.
Onwards and forwards,
Have a great day allThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi chums back from my travels and had a smashing day with DGS Jack at the Uni, then met up with other DGS Ben as he made it down to Hatfield, and we all had a good long natter over some cold drinks in the pub. Before Ben went back to Norwich, he finishes his degree this year, and we came back to Kent. Had an early night as I was tired after the journey but feel a lot better today. The anti bios are working and apart from it still being a bit swollen the heat at least has gonequite a bit, so a couple more days and all will be well.Although I will always have one arm larger than the other sadly but I can live with that (well I have for the past 11 years
)
I think I may make a lasagne later as I have my friend coming down from Dartford for lunch and we do like to natter and knit and a lasagne just needs bunging in the oven
Hope everyone is having a good day and not getting too hot
Cheers chums JackieO xx0 -
Morning just, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Usual Sunday lie in, well till 9.30 at least when OH said it is a nice morning, time to get up and into the garden!!
I have done a bit over half an hour in the garden before my back told me to give up, made a cuppa and then did a bit more, but OH had his hour, so time to come in. I have towels in the washer will put them on the line when its finished. There is a breeze. We did not get any of the forecast rain yesterday, so will have to water tonight.
Our travelling pastor friends phoned yesterday they are back from their latest trip, hope to catch up with them this week before they shoot off again, although I think their next two dates are local so they will travel each day.
Chicken for supper tonight with roasties cabbage and carrots. I pulled rhubarb yesterday will put some gooseberries with it for a crumble, although I might just whip up some sponge and wang that on the top for a change.0 -
Hello again, it was really annoying to write a long and boring I mean informative post only for it to vanish in the ethereal Mists.
So far today I have done some washing, read the Sunday Times, had a lovely bubble bath, and I must get ready as a friend is dropping in.
Tonight I am cooking sone chicken with olive oil and herbs, salads and OH will run me down to L*dL for their lovely fresh rolls. He cooked last night, they had a heap of lamb chops, with salad, chips, tomato and basil salad, tomato bread and I had a piece of haddock, salad and one chip. It was an overcooked chip. I don't like anything tomatoey with fish. And then we had raspberries.
I wentered out yesterday and bought two nice floaty linen tops.
Holly I'd be spooked too but they were quite probably just 3 women doing something unrelated to you.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Afternoon all.
Made it back home after the trek to Glasgow and back. Had a little nip into the city centre to collect an order and then out. There was lots of traffic coming up on the way back, hordes of camper vans.
It's been pouring down all day, at least we had yesterday.:rotfl: A neighbour brought down a wooden planter he made so I'm hoping to be able to fill it tomorrow.
TA - please make sure that you look after yourself as well as everyone else.0 -

I wish i shared your love of gardens. Artificial grass and slabs would do me or even a decent sized back yard.
And so say I too JUDI. I used to love gardening in my younger and fitter days but nowadays, with dodgy hips and knees objecting to me bending over, I too would settle on a paved yard and pots!
I have had a busy morning bed changing, trip to Sainsbobs (and spent too much!) and cobbled together lunch from the microwave so now I am getting my feet up and turning a blind eye to the muck and dust!! CAMELOT - DD has offered to take our washing numerous times but every day I have expected our wm plumbed back in and told her it was ok. If it's still not back in situ when the electrician leaves tomorrow I'll accept her offer!
The rain arrived this morning but didn't fall heavily enough to wash away the sawdust outside. I'll need to get the sweeping brush at it in the finish.
Enjoy your afternoons folks if you can xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Hello all
I'm back on the late shift again
Decided to strip the bed this morning when I got up, as the sun was shining. Put it on the whirly and it rained. Anyway left it for the rest of the day as the wind picked up and we had intermittent sun. All dry now and put away :T.
DD called in this morning a bit upset, as she thinks she has been caught with a speed camera. Jasper the hoover, is in the dog house too as he had to go to the vet to have his stomach emptied again. This time he had eaten some of DGS lego, DD's Easter egg and DGD patisserie double choc muffin . Seems he was on an eating rampage ! DGS had a football match and was man of the match last week as he scored a goal
Dad came for lunch and we had roast lamb, roast pots and mixed veg ( Dad had broad beans too as that's one veg I don't like ). He also replaced the lamb with another leg of lamb, so my freezer is full to bursting again !
We did the crossword and had sandwiches and fresh cream doughnuts for tea. When Dad left for home I remade the bed.
TA you seem a bit more upbeat today. Try to ignore the dust for now, I know it's a hard ask. Black granite sink eh.... now that's what I call posh
JackieO I hope you are on the mend
Silver-Oldie please have a big hug from me.
Nelski didn't you call for the fire brigade ? You missed a trick there, all those men in uniform :rotfl:. Glad you're ok though.
Holly I'm sorry those women scared you. I hope you can get over these things and be you again IYSWIM. Gentle hugs coming your way.
Cranky I caught 3 last night too. Urrrrrrrrrghhh ! I hate the things, but couldn't leave them running around in the house _pale_ and Mr Fix It was fast asleep, typical !
Hope everyone is well tonight. Hugs to all and hopefully I will " see " you tomorrow.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -

I had a fright yesterday - I went to sit down on the sofa - a perfectly normal thing to do, something one does every day of one's life.... and I ended up on the floor! My knee went from under me and I fell sort of forward and sideways somehow. Thankfully missed the corner of the coffee table.
I really don't think this "getting older" lark is all it's cracked up to be!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
