    go to apple.com and sign up as a student, depending when you buy you can save 25- 40%

    Also speak to the university as they could have a scheme selling them cheaper through a bulk student purchase etc.

    A non Apple laptop can do everything that an apple laptop can do. Full stop

    Video editors who like using final cut pro will find a better experience using a mac as Apple control the whole stack.

    People who like mac os over windows will always default to buying a mac just as people who like windows will always buy a pc over a mac.

    If none of that interests the person and everything can be done cloud base then they should buy a chromebook
