Dastardly email scam

Thank you all for taking the trouble to respond. I have had the fraudulent emails independently analysed and indeed they did originate from the solicitors server and not my side. They was the very first thin that I established. I have informed the solicitors but their response gave no acknowledgment of there being a problem their side whatsoever - but that's not suprising. I will report the matter to the information commissioners office and leave it at that.
Your independent expert is an idiot! The only analysis that would conclusively prove their origin would be of their computers or, at the very least, their email server.
Report it to whoever you like; but as for a "case" or "compo"... You are whistling Dixie....0 -

I can quite easily send you an email which will appear to come from any email address that you provide me and your email software will automatically group it with other emails from this address.
The fact that you seem to be worried about third parties accessing the information that you sent in emails shows you don't understand how insecure they actually are.0
