If like many investors you think bonds are going to decline in value over the next few years you may want to split you investment between equities/cash rather than equities/bonds/cash
Bonds aren't going to decline. They are simply heading for redemption which is lowering the return when held to maturity. Likewise equities may well not be a panacea either. Carefull selection is the key. Rather than broadbrush assumptions.0
