Your Hotels.com Rewards nights are about to expire

I've used hotels.com for many years and enjoy collecting the Reward nights. If you don't book a room through hotels.com for 12 months you forfeit accrued Reward nights.
I had accrued 5 reward nights with an average price of 180 USD. I was keen not to lose these as I am planning more travel later in the year, but had no plans to book anything before my Reward nights expired.
My solution was to book a night in the cheapest country I have ever visited, Vietnam. I went to hotels.com, searched for one person in one room in Vietnam on a Monday, ordered the results by price and chose a dormitory room for £1.66. Well worth it to keep my reward points I think.
I should note that hotels.com require you to book AND stay to maintain your rewards. I paid for my room up front.
Just thought I would pass on this little tip.

I might find the flights a bit pricey for that.
I've switched to booking on Expedia via Topcashback after Hotels.com TCB dropped sharply. No reward nights, but cash in hand.0
