Aire St Leeds.....Start of a journey

Hi All,

So I have received the dreaded letter detailing a parking fine in Aire St. Leeds.

I have read through the detailed information here and am so impressed by the support that is given it has encouraged me to fight/contest the charge as the sign that is in the car park has lead me to park in good faith and I am not convinced that what this company is doing is morally acceptable.

The sign in the car park by my memory had something that detailed chargeable hours apply only up until 6pm, the car was parked outside of these hours (trying not to give too many identifiable details here).

I have sent the initial appeal message through to dispute based upon incorrect signage and await their response.

Does anyone have an up to date photo of the sign that is in Aire Street Car Park that they are able to supply me with so that I can use this further down the line with POPLA.

I look forward to and truly appreciate any support that anyone gives me here as this really needs to stop being a thing that these companies can get away with.

There are dozens of Aire Street threads on here.

I used Aire leeds sign in the forum search facility, choosing Show Posts, and that found fifty six posts mentioning those words.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
