Not if you open a savings account with that money! Savings accounts don't show in your credit report, and they pay interest. So once you finish "paying off" your loqbox, move that money to a savings account.

Save that money with your own bank and you will get some history and your own bank are likely to offer you one of their credit cards which will be at a reasonable rate. Skipping the sub prime cards.

And your saving and earning interest. win win?

And open accounts to pay your utility bills and mobile contract. Making sure you on the Electoral Register at your current address. Also, checking your three credit files to ensure that all data is recorded accurately.

LOQBOX helped me to get a current account with TSB. I was not able to do before.. could only open basic account due to the bad credit history. Happy with them so far... 3 more installments to go

You have absolutely no proof that this outfit was the difference between acceptance or not. Time was clearly the main factor.
