My 11 year old DS has just asked me if he can write to Santa for an XBox for Christmas!:D He knows I can't afford one, so he asked if Santa would bring him one - I thought I was doing well with him still believing last Christmas:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

bless. My DD (9) doesn't believe any more and has told my 7 yr old that's he's not real. You've done very well up til now, but maybe a little word about you paying anta/buying presents for santa to bring might be in order LOL.0

Tried that one too!! Told him I have to give some money to FC/Santa so he mustn't expect the world!! Mind you I've been telling him that for last few years and it doesn't seem to have sunk in yet!!
His twin sister has been aware of FC's non existence for a year or so - must be that girls are more worldly wise :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
My eldest daughter was in her first year in secondary school and was still talking about Father Xmas. I thought I am going to tell her the truth or the other children will tease her.
However , when i did tell her she went mad, apparently she had known for years, but, it kept the magic still there for her while we all pretended to think she still believed in him.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0 -

Your son sounds like a nice kid.
At 13:eek: my daughter asked "is there really a Father Christmas?" . I responded with a question "what do you think"?. No more was said about it.
Every Christmas thereafter we have continued all of our Christmas rituals, including leaving out mince pies, sherry, carrots and water; stockings are hung on the end of the bed and filled in the dead of night and "HE" leaves presents under the Tree. Before bed we all go outside and look for Father Christmas' lights and listen for the reindeer bells (a deft tug on a piece of string to a bell in a hedge usually ensures we hear them). Last year we had a party on Xmas eve (Champagne and canapes - won't be doing that this year) there were lots of us looking and listening in the garden.
It is all good clean fun! DD will be 20 in January!!!!

That's my dilema - should I tell her now that she's at secondary school or do I assume that she knows and is just pretending. She'll get the P ripped out at school if she geuninely still believes and goes around insisting.
She is convinced that fairies exist - she says she's seen them, and who am I to argue? There are adults out there who believe.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
my son is eleven and started secondary school last september. I overheard a conversation with him telling older (16) boys he had his phone from santa- he really still believed. It broke my heart but i told him not long after so he would not be teased. those boys were nice lads, some others might of taken the mick out of him. We still pretend to each other he's real but to everyone else he's a grown up;)0

I was one of those children that will beleive absolutely anything that my parents told me. I was also one of those children that got teased in secondary school because I was adamant that HE still existed. That was the point at which I was told.
Could you not say that when you get to a certain age FC stops bringing presents, maybe receive a note or something from HIM.0 -

I would let the bairn believe as long as he can - there seems to be so much rush to "grow up" these days that it's lovely to still have some magic around.
I'm 31 and am gonna keep on believing!! :j0
