QuickWeFix - phone sent for repair and no answer back

Hi everyone,
I am dealing with a situation I am not comfortable with. I sent my phone on 2nd April to QuickMobileFix for a screen replacement for which I paid straight away £179. On 4th April they updated the tracking number saying that they received the phone. Then a week later they diagnosed the issue so they updated the tracking number ordering for part 4-7 working days. That is way past due now so I sent 2 emails to ask about the status of the repair and I got no reply. I called their number but the line is not in use at all (fake probably). Then I asked them on their Facebook page and my comment was removed 5 minutes later. The same message I did sent to them in private and it was seen but ignored. What legal option do I have here as the phone has personal information on it and it has £700 value + £179 paid through card payment.
Any suggestion is much appreciated and sorry if I posted in the wrong section
Thank you,
Florin

I feel your pain mate, I have a post on here called refund, I bought an iphone off Quick mobile fix sent it back 3 times because it was faulty they wont give me a refund wont answer the phone and all I get is an automated reply for my emails.I live in Ireland and im on here looking for some help but if I was you I would go to trading standards and then the small claims court,0

I saw your post. I sent emails to CAB and to consumer rights for online fraud. I am not sure why no one has done anything about this scammers. We can't be the first ones or the last ones and they keep scamming people with no consequences. I will dedicate my next few weeks to take them to court. I paid for a repair and sent my phone too and they kept them both and never got back to me. Aboslutely shocking0

Hi,
Thank you for your reply
The address is EDIGITAL, PO BOX 2406, ILFORD, IG1 8EP
Their website is quickmobilefix.
I am shocked of how many bad reviews of the same thing has be done to so many people. A look on google reviews is shocking0 -
That's awful. You can probably get your money back via chargeback. As for the phone, like ken1971 I too would say it sounds like a case for trading standards.0

Hi,
Can anyone add some further guidance regarding this please? I am really worried about my phone as it has all my personal data on it. Or maybe someone who had dealt with them and had success or someone in a similar position?
I appreciate your time given for this matter.
Thank you,

What legal option do I have here as the phone has personal information on it and it has £700 value + £179 paid through card payment.
If it was debit then you should be able to recover the £179 through a chargeback but if it was a credit card then you are in a far better situation.
This is because you should qualify for "section 75" protection.
This basically makes the credit provider equally and jointly liable for any breach of contract and it has the advantage in that your losses are not limited to the money that you paid out.
If the credit provider is liable then they are liable for the replacement cost of your phone should you not get it back.
As to the personal information.
The best thing to do about this is to consider it lost and act accordingly with changing all passwords etc.0 -
Update:
They replied on 25th April to my email requesting the phone back and the money refunded back to my card. I reached CAB about this issue and they opened a case based on my pieces of evidence with Trading Standards and will update me on the outcome.
I went even further and opened a case against them with the EU (online dispute resolution) and my case was passed to an advisor.
I will ask for a chargeback from my bank tomorrow but regarding my phone, I will never consider it lost and I will fight for it because these scammers are in the business because people give up chasing them and making them pay.
I am not the only one scammed by them and I will like to know if a Moderator can pin a story backed up by pieces of evidence regarding how they scam people and hopefully we can make people aware of what they are doing and prevent further people losing their money or devices.0 -
hi again I got in contact with my bank for a charge back and I got my money refunded yesterday0
