Some else removed me from Electoral Roll

Options
Hi

I've just been doing a soft check for a mortgage but every time i search with different banks I get they where unable to match my details. Finally one bank said it was due to not matching the Electoral Roll.

I've been in the same flat for years have always been on the roll before and have never taken myself off it. I've applied for credit cards and not had a problem before now. The only thing that has changed is my flat mate moved out (2 months ago). I didn't have a great relationship with her and I suspect that she has removed both herself and me as a last kick.

Is this possible? Is she even allowed to remove me without permission?
I cannot get in contact with the council office until Monday now to check but a little worried about it.

I can re join the roll however If I am right how long will I now have to wait until I can apply for mortgage, credit cards etc - im in total freak out mode that Im going to have to wait 6 years until I have a full history again!

Any help would be great as its put a massive hole in my plan to hunt around for a mortgage this weekend and im now really worried about the future

Thanks
SHJ

Did you remember that you have to register each year?
  • Why would you have to wait 6 years again when the only thing apparently missing is the ER listing?

Have you actually checked your credit files?

Have you registered yourself when it came through?
  • Yeap checked credit file and it says that Im on the roll however that I have one adjustment due on my next report (due in 4 days). I thought you had to have a uninterrupted history of being the the roll, hence the 6 years? Is this not the case?

Of course not. Suppose you went abroad for a few months, or left the area and moved around for a bit before settling down and then took your time before registering until you knew you were at a permanent address.

    Take a chill pill
