You'll get a receipt detailing the service and any work done

Sounds harsh but I wouldn't let Halfords change as much as a bulb on any vehicle that I'm responsible for.

And I'll tell you why. We used to have vans on lease from a large national 4x4 company, they had an account with Halfrauds for bulbs, wipers etc. We sent one of the vans (a Vivaro) in for a headlight bulb. They fitted the bulb upside down.

Now those of you reading this with any experience of changing headlight bulbs on that particular vehicle will know that they only fit one way. How the Halfrauds guy managed it I'll never know, but the beam from that headlight was pointing at the moon when we got it back.

Do not use Halfrauds, Kwack Fit or any other chain of fast fit centres unless it's an absolute emergency, and certainly not for servicing.
You can have results or excuses, but not both.

I will be calling round various local independent garages nearer the time if I find out they don't have the service history :) def avoiding all the fast fits from everyone's advice :)
