if DH had done what yours did I would have murdered him. He has almost always been the breadwinner (apart from about 7 years I have worked part-time) but we have always had joint bank accounts and I have been able to spend what I want (so long as we had the money).
I'd best not say any more, i did write a really long post but this is a public forum and dont really want my life broadcast to the world. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good morning sun worshippers
Agree with you Gers and others about this thread.... the way I see it is on this thread we share the natural rise and fall of life. Sometimes we are bubbling over with the joy of life and sometimes we need our friends to be there. This is a unique group of friends that you don't see anywhere else. Wouldn't it be amazing to all meet up as one very strange looking group of girlies on tour:D Lets book a villa somewhere hot and Ill bring the prosecco
Gorgeous here again today and after a lovely day in the sun yesterday (no rudolf moment thanks to baby block) I managed half of a book Im really enjoying and felt some real benefits from the chill. Managed to finish my pending contract checks after sending an email which in the end had 22 attachments  I feel I may have lost some brownie points after finishing the email off by saying that bar a trip to Jeremy Kyle and a DNA there is nothing left to send....oops
Off to lunch again today with a book club friend ....hoping she's up for eating al fresco
Jackie hope [STRIKE]they have come round to remove the tag[/STRIKE] that you can get out a bit today:D:D big love as always
TAhope we will get pics of the kitchen I have a big problem with kitchen envyHugs to Mr TA I have neuropathy too and its a nasty nasty thing never mind all the other things he has to live with:(
Juditime for a chat with Grump maybe? :A
Holly Enjoy the park and your dinner with your friend xx0 -
CSARINA I know what you mean about other people giving advice on things they know nowt about. Mr TA's sister (Me Me Me) was the worst. She was clueless as to what life has been like for us these last 5 years. Or even the extent of all his ailments, because she never asks! Then scattered pearls of wisdom on how we should cope! At one point she suggested I should contact the 3 hospitals and 5 specialists he was under at that time and get all our appointments booked the same week so we had appointment-free weeks to go on holiday! Last time I spoke to her about 9 months ago I just snapped at her and she has blanked me ever since. Am I bothered?!!!
The installers are here and I have a worktop propped up outside! Woo-hoo! I hope non-one runs off with it!! And someone has dumped a cracked and stained white sink in our skip so I hope no-one thinks it was ours! xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Falls on deaf ears Nelski. Ive tried so many times.
Prodigal has been and gone. My medication has been delivered (well half of it anyway).
Csarina your quilts are beautiful. You are very talented.

Sorry, been awol again for 2 days. Out all day Weds, and spent Thurs catching up with surveys and incoming post. So I haven't had chance to catch up on events on the Daily, I'm afraid.
Just waiting for Dusty Dog to arrive now.
Need to find a recipe for some form of raspberry dessert. Mr Google may be of help.
TA re your "Me Me Me" SiL blanking you - I'd say it saves you some breath to blow hot puddings with if you don't have to waste it talking to her.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Golly gosh it is very warm here today again, not complaining though. Sitting room is on the dark side of the house, ideal on days like today to come and cool down in:D
I have been reading and sending good vibes etc, but have been getting ready for a 5 day break (done), trying to reclaim small patches of my garden in the hope that one day I can join them all up, washing, getting ready for our annual 3+ week adventure:D
I have more energy than I have had for several years, still probably only 25% of what lots of folk my age have, but have been running out of spoons by late afternoon. I am really hoping that I have turned a corner towards a better life and that it is not just a blip. House is still a tip and will have to remain so until the end of May, thank goodness I rarely need to invite anyone in:o
I will attempt to drop in as we wander around Scotland, but am completely rubbish trying to post on the tablet, it seems to have a life of it's own.
Take care everyone, this is such a lovely place to be:AThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Hi everyone,
maddiemay, have a great holiday
Holly, thanks for starting us off & enjoy your people watching in the parkVery happy that you are eating more healthily
Gers, congrats on the new car - red cars always remind me of the ‘prancing horse’ cars :rotfl:
To everyone who is struggling, feeling unappreciated, coping with their own or family illnesses or just feeling generally down please know that we are all on your side - even though I am only a ‘5 monther’ I have found that reading your posts with all the ups & downs of RL is making me a more thoughtful person - don’t explode with indignation or anger in RL anywhere near as much :rotfl: I truly hope that you all keep posting (despite the whims & vagaries of the OS Forum)
DH was up early, fed the cats & went on a shopping trip to Spain (:o my DSis & I are both sm*k#r* & both keep finding excuses not to quit) & now he & DSis are off to the Tip with the 8th carload of rubbish.
DNeph has just left with a bag of his clothes but will return Sunday with a car driving friend to pick up several crates & boxes of his stuff - so more stuff decluttered from DSis’s house
As for me I have been a lazy c** & now have a splitting headache as my reward :rotfl: C’est la vie :rotfl: I will start again tomorrow & just enjoy the warm weather today

Evening all,
Another late posting, sorry. I shall sit on the naughty step later. Is it 1 min per year according to nanny whatsit ? If that's the case I shall be there till tomorrow :rotfl:
Thought we would have a day away from the dust so we have been over the caravan all day, taking the cushions etc over. We took a picnic and a flask, good job too as we spoke to the farmers wife and she has given us another pitch, which will be easier for us to get in and out, so we moved the van too. Blummin heck by the time we had finished we were really bushed and filthy dirty, having taken the cover off, levelled the pitch to our satisfaction, moved the van and then struggled to put the cover back on. I was elected to crawl on the floor to pass Mr Fix It the straps, simply because my eyes are closer to the ground, but the trouble is I can't get back up so he has to help me back to my feet :rotfl:. I have come to the conclusion that we are no longer spring chickens.
While we were there we were approached by another 'vanner telling us that they had a break-in. The thieves took the cassette toilet system, including the actual toilet bowl and left the van with a hole in the floor . Seems that it was perhaps stolen to order as nothing else was taken and the van was full of other stuff ( BBQ, awning etc )
I didn't feel like cooking tea so after we jumped in the shower ( stop it.....separately ) we had wraps and salad. I also put our dirty clothes straight in the WM and have hung them out on the whirly.
Please, please everyone keep posting, even if you need to rant or moan. We are all guilty of that at some time or another. I feel like I moan on a regular basis !
TA I hope that Mr TA's appointments come quickly. PM me if you need to talk.
Judi when we moved in here all that was in the kitchen was a sink unit. Mr Fix It built me a kitchen and it's still fine really, but I would like to change the cupboard doors for something more modern. I'll add it to his to do list
Snoozer thanks. Are you available for cleaning my cupboards too ? I have cake and biscuits
Holly enjoy the warm weather and the park. I love people watching too.
Apologies as there were more people that I wanted to mention but I have forgotten who they were. Sorry for the essay too :rotfl:.
Tonight I am sending extra big hugs to everyone. The Sandman is also on call.
Take care all.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Nanny no need for the naughty step. No detention either.
Grump made a brilliant job of the kitchen cupboards I have to say but I'd like to change the doors.
He is stuck in Wales. The car has broken down. It's in the garage on Monday so another day off work. When I think of the stick he gave youngest when he bought his fiat 500...Fix It Again Tomorrow he said Fiat stood for... Youngests Fiat hasn't cost him half what Grumps car has and happens to be more reliable.
Still what do I know?
Eldest been and gone. Hounds have been out for a drag...
