Life Cover & Contents Insurance

Hi All,
We are in the process of buying a house (part share) and we are happy with the mortgage the Mortgage advisor has sorted for us, however he is basically trying to push that we take out the life cover (£16 each per month) and contents insurance (£15 per month) through him.
From one I can work out he gets paid commission for each product he sells, however the products hes selling arent competitive at all and I can get it for an average of a third of the cost per month (about £15ish a month after quidco etc (maybe less) instead of £45).
I just want to double check that Im right in thinking that we do not have to take these out through him and we are ok to sort these out ourselves.
Thanks, Shane

I use them for my insurances (personal) and they are super. The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself. (Oscar Wilde);)0 -
